On the occasion of the founding celebrations of the University of Basra, and on the occasion of the middle of the holy month of Ramadan, and on the occasion of the birth of Imam Al-Hassan Al-Mujtaba, the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basra, in a humanitarian initiative, visited the Children's Hospital and Hereditary Blood Diseases.

The visit, which was made by a number of professors (the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Rashid Abd Rashid Al-Sharifi, Dr. Suad Abdullah Fadih, Dr. Kholoud Kazem Khalaf, the assistant lecture Abuzar Aziz Hamed, and the senior researcher Mohsen Rabih Ghanem) included providing moral support to the children, and more than (200) sweet baskets (Al-Karkaean) were distributed for the ill children, wishing them a speedy recovery.
