Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdel-Ridha Al-Tamimi, and in the presence of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Registration, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul-Zahra Oraibi, the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems in the College of Arts at the University of Basrah holds a scientific seminar entitled (Plants in human life).

The seminar aims to introduce the properties, secrets and wonders of plants and the nature of their use in medical treatment, and to clarify the most important experiences of scientists in studying the feeling and sensation of plants of what is happening in their external environment.

The seminar moderated by Prof. Dr. Amal Saleh Abboud, and retired Prof. Dr. Daoud Jassim Al-Rubaie, presented his research paper titled (The Amazing Plant Secrets), in which he explained the composition of plants, their characteristics, and the plant’s ability to sense the external environment in which it lives, as well as mentioning the experiences of scientists in analysis and control of the feeling and sensation of the plant affected by what is going on around it.
