Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdel-Ridha Al-Tamimi, the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basra held a ceremony to honor retired professors in the department. The honoring included (Professor Dr. Daoud  Jassim Al-Rubaie, Professor Dr. Nasr Abdul-Sajjad Al-Mousawi, Assistant Professor Dr. Munim Majeed Al-Hammadi, and Professor Dr. Abdullah Salem, and the honor was received by Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdel-Wahhab and Professor Dr. Saud Abdulaziz, and the honor was received by Professor Huda Al-Shaalan and Professor Dr. Hassan Aday, and the honor was received by Dr. Kholoud Al-Jourani).

For his part, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies expressed his thanks, appreciation and gratitude to them for their scientific efforts and great services to the university.
