The University of Basrah Organizes a Panel Discussion on the Book “Anthropology from a Pragmatic Point of View: Presentation and Analysis”

The Department of Philosophy at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled ((The Book “Anthropology from a Pragmatic Point of View” Presentation and Analysis)).

The panel discussion, in which lect. Dr. Ghaida Habib Ali lectured, aims to introduce the writings of the German philosopher Immanuel Kant and determine the status of the book of anthropology from a pragmatic point of view among his books through a presentation of the entirety of his intellectual activity spanning over fifty years, and then defining the subject area of the book and detailing its title and stating its content.

The panel discussion dealt with the subject in two main axes (the title of the book and the content of the book). In the first axis, the meaning of the book's title and the philosopher goal of naming were explained, and in the second axis, the content of the book and the most important topics dealt with in the book were presented. The researcher provided a general description of the book, and then a statement of the author  purpose and the criticism of this book.

The panel discussion dealt with explaining the issues that Kant tried to include in this book, and explaining its advantage as the book is distinguished by being a republican book, not dedicated to a specific category of thinkers or philosophers, or specialists in the field of anthropology, but rather it targets all readers from different groups of society. The main focus of the book is man as a cosmic being.
