On Sunday, April 30, the Department of Translation held a workshop for postgraduate students in the department on the mechanism of selecting and writing master theses projects. The lecturer, Assistant Professor Dr. Abd al-Salam Abd al-Majid Saif al-Din, outlined the foundations upon which the selection of vital topics of societal interest is based in light of the rapid development in the field of translation and its overlap with other fields, especially software. Then he moved on to presenting the sections and paragraphs that must be covered in order to start the study, the most important of which are the problem and the hypothesis, how to test it, and the selection of models or samples for analysis. The last part of the workshop was devoted to listening and watching a group of proposed projects. In this regard, Prof. Jassim Khalifa Sultan taught students the importance of settling on a specific topic by taking enough time and exerting maximum effort in research before officially registering the topic.
