Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basrah, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al Kaabi, the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdul Redha Al Tamimi, the Head of the Translation Department, Dr. Jassim Khalifa Khalaf, and the Head of the English Language Department, Prof. Reda Thanoon Ali, a tragic play in English was shown on the stage of the College of Arts, Basrah University, inspired by one of the masterpieces of English literature, which is the play of Doctor Faustus.

A group of students from the English language and translation departments participated in the show. The students impressed all the attendees with their distinguished performance. The Dean of the College praised the efforts of those who carried out this work, the most important of which are the students, and encouraged them and their colleagues to provide the best for their college.

He also extended his sincere thanks to ,Lect.Dr. Samer Abdel Karim, head of the preparatory committee for the work, and the brilliant director, Alaa Jassem Abdel Wahed. Ms. Umm Al-Banin Muhammad Mohsen from the Planning and Follow-up Unit in the college played a pivotal and effective role in coordinating efforts so that this work appears in a manner worthy of the reputation of the College of Arts as a constant sponsor of such student activities.
