The University of Basrah Holds a Training Course Entitled (Injection of Needles)

Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, and under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abdel-Reza Al-Tamimi, the Continuing Education Unit in the College of Arts, in cooperation with the College of Nursing, held a nursing course entitled (Injection of Needles).

The course, which was moderated by Assistant Professor Dr. Sondos Baqer Daoud, and attended by Assistant Professor Afkar Fadel Karim, Assistant Researcher Atiaf Sajjad Abdel-Aali, Assistant Researcher Ali Abdel-Razzaq Mawdar, and Assistant Researcher Amani Saeed Lazim, aims to develop the theoretical and practical skills of employees in the field of learning needle sticks, which are necessary For every individual in the community to carry out this task in the event that the patient is unable to go to health centers or clinics.

The course also included how and steps to insert the needle, determining the location in which the needle is inserted, and the required amount of medicine.

Also, the course clarified some mistakes that may harm the patient  health, including mixing needles, and dissolving nutrient therapy instead of distilled water.. and many instructions that the individual must avoid or take into account. Medical advice was also given in sterilizing the places where needles were inserted and how to use them again.
