The Department of Philosophy in the College of Arts at the University of Basra organized a panel discussion on (Idealism in Sufi Thought, The Book of Secrets of Monotheism by Abi Saeed Al-Mehani as a Model).
The panel discussion in which Assist. Dr. Sarah Abdel-Razzaq Zaji lectured, aims to study idealism through the book of Abu Saeed Al-Mehani through the texts and the mixing of Iranian and Hellenistic Aramaic philosophy, to reach its perfection after that by the Sufis of Islam.
The panel discussion dealt with (idealism and the perfect human being according to the theories of philosophers and ancient civilizations, as well as texts of Abu Saeed) idealism among the prophets, and then he graded it to the mystic, so he says the creation of Adam, the pure, the father of mankind and the habitat of the people of knowledge. Even if the readiness of the spirit and the completion of the human soul from the realm of will are fulfilled for him, he decorates his mould with an ornament (I breathe into him from my soul). So He placed the Prophets and Messengers in one rank with the saint (the Sufi sheikh). That group was the mediator between the worshiped and the worshipers and between the Creator and the creatures. He placed in their souls complete detachment and a great degree of exaltation so that they would be like creation in terms of image and like the Truth, may His Majesty be glorified in terms of attributes, so they quote what is From the truth of the truth and they see the characteristic of light.
The panel discussion touched on several topics, the most important of which are:
1_ The idea of idealism within the philosophical perspective.
2_ idealism in ancient civilization.
3_ Abi Saeed Al-Muhani and texts about the perfect (ideal) person.
