The University of Basrah Tops the Iraqi Universities in the British Times Ranking 2023

The University of Basrah retained its leading position in the British Times classification for sustainable development 2023 for the third year in a row, as it ranked first locally, followed by the University of Babylon and then the University of Baghdad, as well as its eighteenth rank at the level of Arab Gulf universities.

The classification for this year entered fifty-three Iraqi universities and colleges. It recorded competitive positions in the Times Ranking for Sustainable Development for the year 2023, which included 1591 educational institutions from 106 countries around the world. The published official results indicated that Basra University issued the center (401-600) globally, then Babylon University (601-800), followed by the University of Baghdad in the center (601-800).

The University of Basrah also occupied advanced sites with the axes of sustainability in (the effort exerted for clean energy) from (102-200) globally and (working for a clean environment) from (201-300) globally as well as (fighting poverty) in order from (201-300) globally and (quality of education) from (201-300) globally and (providing water and purifying it) from (201-300) Globally, in addition to (production and responsible consumption) from (201-300) globally and finally (life underwater) arranged from (201-300) worldwide.

It is noteworthy that the British Times Ranking for Sustainable Development works to evaluate universities by achieving a number of goals of the United Nations out of (17) goals, including the quality of education, health, welfare, partnerships, industry and innovation.
