The University of Basrah Conducts a Test for Foreign Students Applying for Postgraduate Studies

On Sunday 10-6-2023, the University of Basrah conducted an oral exam for foreign students wishing to study there as part of the "Study in Iraq" program launched by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The Dean of the College, Prof. Dr. Majed Abdel Hamid Al-Kaabi, stated that the university formed a committee headed by the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen, with the membership of the Dean of the College of Arts, the Director of Cultural Relations, Prof. Dr. Majid Ali Musa, and a number of instructors of the Arabic Language Department: Three majors in literature and three majors in language. Dr. Al-Kaabi indicated that the committee listened to foreign students applying for postgraduate studies in the colleges about their CVs, scientific and certificates they want to obtain, and the majors they intend to apply for, and discussed with them their research desires.The Dean of the College confirmed that the college with its teaching cadres and distinguished infrastructure, represented in the new facilities equipped with air-conditioned teaching aids, in conference halls and modern theaters that keep pace with what is found in the best colleges in the world is able to accommodate applicants for postgraduate studies from other countries and train them scientifically Outstanding.

 

It is noteworthy that the foreign applicants are from different countries such as China, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Jordan and Cameroon. And that the Study in Iraq program began last year, according to which a number of foreign students were accepted into the college of Arts at a PhD level, and they have now completed the preparatory year.
