A master's thesis entitled (Geographical analysis of the cultivation of horticultural crops in the north and east of Basra Governorate - a comparative study) was discussed in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.

The thesis presented by the student Muhammad Hassan Jader included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the qualitative composition of horticultural crops in the north and east of Basra Governorate, the second chapter discussed the natural and human potentials affecting horticultural crops in the north and east of Basra Governorate, the third chapter dealt with the geographical distribution of invested horticultural crops in the north and east of Basra Governorate, and the fourth chapter discussed the problems of producing horticultural crops in the north and east of Basra Governorate.

The thesis aims to objectively compare the reality of the production of horticultural crops in the north and east of Basra Governorate, and to review the most important agricultural problems that the Qurna and Shatt al-Arab districts suffer from.

The study recommended investing the natural and human resources available in the two districts for the purpose of advancing the agricultural sector, especially since horticultural crops are of increasing demand and importance in people's daily lives.
