Prof. Dr. Sahib Jaafar Abu Jinnah was a guest at the College of Arts and discussed a PhD thesis entitled: (Shaqaeq al-Matalib in  Sharh Kafiyyah Ibn al-Hajib by Sheikh al-Faqih Muhammad Taqi Ibn al-Sheikh Hasan Ibn al-Sheikh Asad Allah al-Tastari al-Kadhimi (1327 AH) study and investigation. The Dean of the college of Arts, Prof. Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al Kaabi, met Dr. Abu Jinnah and thanked him for his participation in the discussion and gave her a certificate of appreciation on the occasion.It is noteworthy that Dr. Sahib taught for many years in the College of Arts, Department of Arabic Language, and that some of the professors of the department had learned from him. Among the books of Dr. Abu Jinnah: Explanation of Jamal al-Zajiji (The Great Explanation) by Ibn Asfour al-Ishbili (investigation), linguistic phenomena in the reading of al-Hasan al-Basri, Ibn al-Sayyid al-Batliosi, studies in Arabic grammar theory and its applications, and linguistic phenomena in the reading of the people of Hijaz.
