A master thesis entitled (spatial evaluation of infrastructure services in the city of Al-Madinah) was discussed in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.

The thesis presented by the researcher Maytham Nizar Hussain included four chapters. The first chapter discussed the emergence of the city of Al -Madinah and its historical development ,the second chapter discussed the geographical characteristics of the city of Al -Madinah ,the third chapter dealt with the spatial distribution of infrastructure services in the city of Al-Madinah , and the fourth chapter included the efficiency of infrastructure services and their future directions in the city of  Al-Madinah.

The thesis aims to identify the reality of infrastructure services in the city of Al -Madinah and its role in creating a suitable environment for the city and its inhabitants, and to assess its adequacy, efficiency and geographical distribution, to know the extent of its conformity with local and international planning standards.

The thesis concluded by revealing the state of deprivation of most infrastructure services and developed several solutions that would develop services in line with the city's need for them in the present and the future.

The thesis recommended:

Carrying out a comprehensive development of infrastructure services in the city in accordance with the data of planning standards to meet the needs of the population for the purpose of bringing them to the required level of welfare from those services, and this requires the concerned authorities to work with planning controls to achieve this.
