An Instructor in the College of Arts Publishes a Book Entitled (Biochemical and Physiological Responses of Football Players)

An instructor in the College of Arts and Director of the Student Activities Unit, Prof. Dr. Abdel-Amir Hashem Allawi, published a book entitled (Biochemical and Physiological Responses of Football Players).

The title of the book includes two scientific terms: biochemistry, which means the chemistry of life, and its relationship between the variables that occur on the human body and the athlete during physical effort, as well as the term physiology, which means the physiology of the body,The first chapter included biochemical variables and included lactic acid and the effect of sports training on the blood, each of red and white blood cells and platelets, as well as blood acidity ,the second chapter is titled “Hormones.” It included adrenal or suprarenal hormones, adrenal cortex hormones, cortisol during normal effort and athletic performance, the third chapter included enzymes and mineral salts such as calcium and magnesium, and their effect on the muscles of the body during physical effort, and the fourth chapter included physiological variables such as the maximum oxygen consumption, as well as the efficiency of physical performance, the pulse as a physiological indicator, training using the treadmill. In conclusion, football training according to the three lines in football and the functional and physical characteristics of the football player.

The book was printed in Dar Al-Samer for translation, publishing and distribution.
