On Tuesday morning,16/11/2020,  a master's thesis was discussed in the Department of Arabic Language, College of Arts, University of Basrah entitled "The Linguistic Context in the Interpretation of the Lights of the Statement in the Explanation of the Qur’an by the Qur’an by al-Shanqeeti and the Interpretation of the Balance in the Interpretation of the Qur’an by the Tabatabai - a Balancing study.

The thesis presented by student Muhammad Ali Kamel Abbas included three chapters. The first chapter dealt with the concept of linguistic context and its argument in the Interpretation of the Lights of the Statement and the Interpretation of the Scale. The second chapter examined the doctrinal backgrounds and their effect on contextual reading in the Interpretation of the Lights of the Statement and the Interpretation of the Balance. The third chapter showed the effect of the linguistic context on the significance of the Interpretation of the Lights of the Statement and the Interpretation of the Scale.

The thesis aims to address the linguistic context of both commentators in its conceptualization and argument, and it drew attention to the impact of doctrinal backgrounds in their contextual reading, as well as explaining the effect of that context on significance, and clarifying the contextual vision of both commentators.

The thesis reached a definition of the concept of the linguistic context for both commentators, with an explanation of the controls of that argument, which differed between them, especially in the control of the chronology that was unique to Allama Tabatabai.

This is because he does not believe in the pausing order of the verses of the Qur’an.
