Discussion of the student Intizar Khalaf Khudair

The PhD thesis entitled (Abu al-Abbas al-Sabti, his role and influence on Sufi thought in the Maghreb, the sixth century AH) was discussed in the Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah.

The thesis presented by the student, Intezar Khalaf Khudair, included three chapters (Abu al-Abbas al-Sabti, his life, upbringing, and era, Abu al-Abbas al-Sabti, his social and economic role, and his impact on Moroccan heritage, and Abu al-Abbas al-Sabti, his political role and impact on Sufi thought in the Islamic Maghreb).

The thesis aims to trace and clarify the role and impact of Sheikh Al-Sabti in the Islamic Maghreb, especially his impact on Sufi thought and his role in other areas of life.

The thesis came out with the conclusion that the sheikh was able and effective in drawing inspiration from Sufi thought and employing it in strengthening the state of social and human solidarity in Moroccan society, according to his opinion based on the necessity of activating the aspect of benevolence and charity, based on his principle that says (existence is affected by generosity). Perhaps this is the most important finding of the thesis in the issue of strengthening solidarity ,community  and the widespread state of compassion among them is a belief in the embodiment of Sufi thought that is far from fantasies and deviations.
