The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah held its weekly activity represented by a seminar entitled ((The Expansion of Contextual Meaning in the Quranic Language) presented by Assistant Professor Dr. Hussein Ali Al-Mahdi, a teacher assistant in the department, in which he emphasized that the contexts of the Holy Qur’an are precise and miraculous contexts, as its compositions in which the words were carefully chosen to perform intended meanings, and in these contexts, the phenomenon of renewed meanings emerges, as the Qur’anic text opens up widely to include the entire existence. The researcher added in his paper, “One of the developed meanings of the word ‘saying’ is that it is an expression of what is in the conscience or mind, meaning that the one who says it must be a human being or an animal...but we found the word “saying” in Quranic terminology, and according to its multiple contexts, it went beyond this meaning to include all existing things)).
The seminar received extensive interventions and discussions.
