Under the supervision of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies, Professor Dr. Haider Abdel-Rida Al-Tamimi, and in solidarity with the people of Gaza and under the title of the campaign (Iraqis Fear), the History Department at the College of Arts at the University of Basra took the initiative to collect financial donations from the department’s professors, who are (Professor Dr. Najat Abdel Karim Abdel-Sada, Professor Dr. Nazim Rashm Maatouq, Professor Dr. Ansam Ghadhban Abboud, Professor Dr. Raghad Faisal Abdel-Wahhab, lect. Dr. Araa Jassim Muhammad, lect. Dr. Sahira Hussein Mahmoud) and in kind from the students.

The campaign organizers recommended the following:

1. The need for all segments of Iraqi and Arab society to come together to help the people of Gaza.

2. Urging international and humanitarian organizations to provide assistance to the people of Gaza and repel the aggression against them.

3. Urging the Iraqi and Arab media of all kinds to highlight the suffering of our brothers besieged in Gaza and encourage Iraqi and Arab citizens to help them because of the impact this will have in alleviating their suffering.

Dr. Haider Abdel Reda confirmed that the College of Arts stands in solidarity with the people of Gaza and calls on the university community to provide a helping hand and donate to contribute to saving lives and helping the victims and their families.
