Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University of Basrah, Professor Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, the Honorable Professor Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, the Continuing Education Unit organized an awareness seminar entitled (Avoiding the term gender and the reasons for its spread).

The seminar included several main topics

The first topic, which was lectured by assistant lect. Iyad Hussein Amer, at the College of Administrative Technology, touched on gender (its dangers and characteristics) and explained, “Abolishing the differences between the sexes and classifying sex on the basis of personal inclination and desire and not on the biological basis is harmful to humanity and tearing apart the social fabric, in addition to being contrary to human nature and and good behavior .”

The abnormal attempts that some seek to make based on qualitative classification based on personal desires are nothing but illegitimate attempts to permit abnormalities that are forbidden in all divine laws and constitutions established by normal humans.

The second topic, by the teacher, Dr. Dhikra Muhammad Kazem, Director of the Central Library at the University of Basrah, also addressed the role of the family, society, and turning to the Islamic religion in getting rid of foreign aspects of Islamic society. She also explained the importance of the role of the university professor in educating students to limit the spread of such terms that are far from our Islamic religion, which negatively affects society.

Some studies were presented that dealt with homosexuality through experiments on some patients, which confirmed that homosexuality is an individual behavior and that there is no relationship between genes and this type of disease.
