The University of Basrah Discusses the PhD thesis Hajj analysis of speech a study in the interpretation of the Quran and reason by Mr. Nour al-Din al-Husseini

The PhD thesis at the college of Arts at the University of Basrah discussed the Hajj analysis of speech, a study in the interpretation of the Quran and reason by Mr. Nour al-Din al-Husseini.

The thesis of the researcher Muhannad Abdul Karim Jabbar included three chapters in which he spoke the linguistic methods and mechanisms of pilgrims in the interpretative discourse and the rhetorical methods of pilgrims in the interpretative discourse as well as the mental methods of pilgrims in the interpretative discourse.

The thesis aims to identify the importance of arguments in analyzing discourse in general and explanatory discourse in particular, because explanatory discourse possesses a number of components that make it the focus of attention of scholars in order to achieve understanding or change the point of view of the recipient.

The thesis concluded that the argumentative analysis of the interpretive discourse is a new construction process for understanding the Qur’anic discourse according to the opinion of the interpreter, which establishes a new re-understanding based on defending the sacred text (the Holy Qur’an) away from theories that seek to undermine it.

The thesis recommended following the Hajj  analysis of speech as a kind of analysis of the linguistic component within the discursive formation and finding out what is shrouded in linguistic, rhetorical or mental methods, in particular, applying this analysis to religious or interpretative discourse.
