The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (the nature of national libraries in the world and the Arab world).

The panel discussion, in which Professor Dr. Amal Abdel-Rahman Abdel-Wahed lectured on 10/10/2023, touched on the definition of national libraries and their importance as an institution that has the responsibility of preserving and collecting the national intellectual heritage through several methods, including legal deposit, as well as introducing the types of national libraries and the functions they perform.
