The Department of Translation at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah discussed  the Impact of Language Directionality on the Quality of Translation Revision.

The Researcher Ghosun Jawad Malbas thesis included five chapters talked about the introductions of the dissertation, as well as a comprehensive theoretical presentation of previous studies related to the topic and research methodology, in addition to an analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, the results of the study and its recommendations.

The thesis aims to test whether the direction of the language into which the translation is translated affects the quality of the translation review and thus the quality of the translation, as well as to investigate what are the challenges that reviewers face in both directions from Arabic to English and from English to Arabic.

The thesis concluded that the direction of the language has a tangible impact on the quality of translation, on the one hand, and on the other hand, and that the difficulties that reviewers face in the direction from Arabic to English lie in difficulties in style, understanding the text, and other difficulties related to vocabulary, punctuation, and dictation... As for the other hand. When translating from English to Arabic, reviewers faced challenges with grammar and terminology, issues related to style, difficulties in understanding the source text, and challenges related to vocabulary.

The letter recommended providing courses related to translation review within the curriculum followed at the university to help students practice translation review during their translations... It also recommended holding discussion circles that encourage interest in translation review and training in it.
