The University of Basra organizes a scientific seminar on highlights of Gaza from the depths of history to the Twfan Al-Aqsa

The Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Center for Development and Continuing Education, organized a scientific seminar entitled highlight on Gaza from the Depths of History to the Twfan Al-Aqsa .

 

The seminar touched on two main axes. The first axis, in which Dr. Shaker Majeed Kazem lectured, spoke about the historical dimension of Gaza City since its founding by the Canaanites, which dates back to 3,000 years BC. M, its origin, geographical borders and population. The meaning of the name Gaza and the names given to it, including Gaza Hashem, in reference to the grandfather of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) who died and was buried there, its ancient trade relations with the Arabian Peninsula, Egypt, Greece and the Mediterranean islands, and its resistance to foreign occupation throughout its historical stages.

The second topic, in which Dr. Nazim Rashm Al-Emara lectured, dealt with the Twfan Al-Aqsa and the Hamas movement’s attack on the Zionist settlements, the importance of that heroic act, the global reactions to it, and the importance of the heroic act carried out by Hamas, which brought the Palestinian issue back to the forefront again. The great courage shown by the resistance fighters, the Palestinian people and the residents of Gaza in resisting the brutal Zionist occupation and the great losses they suffered.
