The Women's Empowerment Unit at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Arabic Language Department, organized an attendance seminar on the phenomenon of drugs and reducing its impact on Iraqi society and families, in the presence of a group of students and college employees.

The seminar was presented by Ms. Alaa Salem Hassan, Director of the Women’s Empowerment Unit at the college, and lectured by Lecturer Abdul Jalil Ghadhban, Director of the Legal Division at the College of Arts, and Professor Dr. Nazem Ali Abadi.

The seminar was an awareness- about the drug phenomenon and an explanation of Drug Law No. 50 of 2017 and the amendments issued to it by both regulatory and punitive sides, as well as the risks and negative consequences resulting from this phenomenon, and directing all cadres to the seriousness of the situation and the best ways to avoid it.

The seminar aims to provide comprehensive awareness of the dangers of drugs and the importance of treatment, or the negative aspects of all incurable afflictions in society.
