Title: The Spatial variation of the Demographic Well-Being Indicators according to 2016 Statistics in Basra prefecture

Abstract: In the last decades, studies seeking to measure the scope of peoples' progress have increased. This paper aims to studying the demographic well-being indicators in Basra, one of the southern cities in Iraq and it is regarded as one of the pillars used to measure the human well - being in society according to the social, economic and the service aspects. This is done by taking into consideration objective indicators eligible to statistic measures. Thus, some indicators have been selected including (the average of family size, rate of total birth delivery, rate of infants' death, rate of mothers' death, expected range of life among males and females, and rate of below- five-year children's death). These were also studied according to their spatial variation among the seven districts in Basra (Basra, Abil-Khaseeb, Faw, Shatt-El-arab, Qurna and Madainah Districts). This is up to extracting the measure of the demographic well-being in the prefecture According to its Districts.
