A Discussing of the student Akram Ali Hussein

On Sunday Monday, 20/12/2020, a master's thesis entitled "A geographical Analysis of Some Child Diseases in Basra Governorate for the Period 2009-2018" was discussed in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems, College of Arts, University of Basrah.

The thesis presented by the student Akram Ali Hussein included four chapters. The first chapter dealt with the theoretical introduction to the study. The second chapter referred to the temporal changes of child diseases in Basra governorate for the period  2009-2018. The third chapter discussed the spatial distribution of child diseases in the Basra governorate for the period  2009 – 2018. The fourth chapter entitled "The Demographic Dimensions of Children with Diseases in Basra Governorate".

The study discussed transitional and chronic diseases, which are considered the most prevalent among children in Basra Governorate. The researcher was able to find a temporal and demographic pattern for these diseases and explain them after subjecting the digital data to statistical analysis in a variety of ways.

The study aims to know and identify the most common types of transitional and chronic diseases among children and to create an accurate and comprehensive geographical database to contribute to understanding the health reality in Basra Governorate, as well as to detect temporal changes and spatial distribution of these diseases, to find out the size of the infected and to determine the most incubated and affected areas.

The study concluded that the diseases under study are global in spread, and that they interact according to geographical factors, and that the rate of injuries is unstable due to the natural and human factors and variables.
