Master's Thesis at Basrah University on (Representations of Nature in the Poetic Discourse of Ali Jaafar Al-Alaq, a Study in Light of Environmental Literary Criticism)

A master's thesis at the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah discussed (Representations of nature in the poetic discourse of Ali Jaafar Al-Alaq, a study in light of environmental literary criticism).
The thesis, presented by researcher Banin Samir Issa, included three chapters that addressed (systems of representations of nature, nature and identity, environmental intertextuality, and cultural references of representation).
The thesis aims to study the relationship that links nature to humans, through its representations in all of Al-Alaq's poetic works.
The thesis concluded that the representations of the relationship between nature and humans have been embodied in a way that is dominated by negativity and pessimism, through the centering of humans and their misuse. The main cause of the environmental crisis, which has become a center of danger for the planet Earth and everything in it, which reflects the poet’s position on this disaster that has befallen the environment, his expression of it, and his attempt to create environmental awareness through his literary texts, through which he calls for its preservation and the guarantee of its rights.
