Master Thesis at the University of Basrah Discusses (The Conservative Trend in Andalusian Poetry - a Study in the Light of Cultural Criticism)

A master thesis in the Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah discussed (The conservative trend in Andalusian poetry - a study in the light of cultural criticism).
The thesis, presented by researcher Sarah Hassan Hadi, included three chapters (the cultural identity of poets of the conservative trend, cultural systems in the poetry of the conservative trend, antithetical dualities, and transformations of the system).
The thesis aims to identify a study in the poetry of the conservative Andalusian trend.
The thesis concluded that the cultural connection between the Eastern environment and the Moroccan environment cast its shadow on Andalusian culture and literature, and poetry was not an exception to that, but rather came influenced by the Eastern formula and Eastern poetry, especially the first Arabic poem and the method of the early Arabs.
The thesis recommended (the necessity of studying ancient poetry according to modern critical methods such as the cultural criticism method, given the breadth and comprehensiveness of the concept of culture, which helps in understanding poetic texts and reading their data according to the cultural reading, thus opening the text semantically to a comprehensive critical reading).
