The Department of Philosophy at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a Panel Discussion entitled Reflections on Education - Presentation and Analysis).
The panel discussion, in which Dr. Ghaida Habib Ali lectured, aims to shed light on the educational views set forth by the philosopher Immanuel Kant in the text Meditations on Education.
The panel discussion dealt with one of the most complex and difficult topics in human life, which is the topic of education, which is the basic pillar in the upbringing of successive generations, as each generation raises the other and the human species must derive from itself, little by little and through its own effort, all the natural qualities of humanity.
The panel discussion also touched on the fact that humans need care and formation, and formation includes discipline and education. A human being does not become a human being except through education, and he is nothing but what education has made him. It must be noted that education only teaches people certain things, and on the other hand, it develops certain qualities in them, and it is impossible to know where a person's natural predispositions go.
