A PhD thesis researched in the Department of History, College of Arts, University of Basrah (Iraq’s regional relations in the framework of water policy, Turkey, Syria, Iran 1921-1980).

The thesis presented by researcher Asaad Khalaf Zayer included three chapters (the geographical and historical nature of water resources in Iraq and its policy in managing them, the water policy of Turkey and Syria and its impact on relations with Iraq, and the water policy of Iran and its impact on relations with Iraq).

The thesis aims to demonstrate the impact of water policies of regional neighboring countries Turkey, Syria and Iran on political and economic relations with Iraq.

The thesis concluded that it is necessary to take all available means to preserve Iraq's acquired rights to the waters of the Tigris and Euphrates rivers
