The University of Basrah  Organizes a Panel  Discussion  Entitled (Children's Rights in the Arab World)

The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a panel discussion entitled (Children's Rights in the Arab World).

The panel presented by lecturer  Haitham Mahdi Mutawaq , focused on highlighting the problems and obstacles that contribute to the deterioration of the child’s conditions and the deprivation of his rights in the Arab world. The workshop also proposed a set of solutions to contribute to reducing these problems and ensuring that the child enjoys full protection.

The panel aims to identify the obstacles to children's rights in Arab society, especially since this society has gone through political, military and economic circumstances that have dramatically affected the Arab personality, in addition to spreading and stimulating interest in children's rights, rejecting domestic violence and fighting ignorance and poverty, while strengthening the positives and supporting them with all possible means to achieve this matter.

The panel discussion reached the following conclusions: Arab governments must provide free and compulsory education opportunities up to a certain stage, with the provision of real and correct teaching staff and the cooperation of parents with teaching bodies to make it a success.
