The Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, in cooperation with the Central Library, the Global Corner, the Continuing Education Center (Continuing Education Unit), and the History Department at the College of Arts at the University of Basra, organized an awareness seminar on honoring parents in building the family and social education.
The seminar, which was lectured by Professor Dr. Intisar Adnan Abdul Wahid and moderated by Dr. Sarah Abdul Razzaq Al-Asadi, Head of the Educational Guidance and Psychological Counseling Unit, aims to shed light on the system of ethics in Islamic thought, as it is considered a basic pillar for preserving society and strengthening its ties, and which stands as a strong barrier against all social diseases that may threaten its entity and destroy it. The emphasis on "honoring and obeying parents" comes at the forefront of the moral rights that the Holy Law has confirmed to preserve the family bond and the societal structure.
Hence, this seminar shed light on this basic aspect and to explain the most important mechanisms for preserving it, in light of the thought of the Imams of the Household of the Prophet, peace be upon them
