
The Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts at the University of Basra hosted Al-Ain Foundation for Orphans.
The lecture included an introductory introduction that covered the following topics:
1. The establishment of the foundation in 2006 by the supreme religious authority, Sayyid Ali al-Husayni al-Sistani, may God preserve him, and giving the Al-Ain Foundation the legal authorization to care for orphans and the poor and to receive the funds mentioned in the authorization and permission of the foundation, which dealt with six points, including legal rights, zakat, expiations, vows, and its acquisition of the status of collection, as it included orphans under the age of 15 from all sects and religions throughout Iraq in 14 governorates.
2. Al Ain Foundation is an independent, non-profit humanitarian organization registered with the Council of Ministers as a civil society organization.
3. Public benefit status.
4. Eligible for tax deduction from income tax.
5. Holds consultative status in the United Nations Economic Council.
The Foundation also had different roles in the various stages that the country went through in terms of the Takfiri terrorist attacks that the Iraqi governorates were exposed to, such as terrorist bombings and others that left behind a very large number of orphans after 2005, as it was the eye that monitored, documented and cared for the orphans, whose number reached more than 98 thousand orphans cared for by the Foundation.
As well as the period of the terrorist ISIS attack in 2014 AD, which caused thousands of orphans and widows from the oppressed people, and the Al-Ain Foundation had a prominent and major role in caring for the families of martyrs from various branches of the forces that responded to the call of truth with the fatwa of His Eminence the Supreme Authority, Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, may God preserve him, who are fighting on the fronts from the Popular Mobilization Forces, the army, the police, and other various branches. The practical workshop concluded with a reminder of the human and legal duty that God Almighty has commanded us to do through the tongue of His Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy (PBUH), through the Qur’anic verses and the noble hadiths.
In conclusion, Al-Ain Foundation, represented by the College of Arts, Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, extended its gratitude and appreciation to the teaching staff, including the Dean, the Head of the Department, all professors, and students who attended the workshop and contributed to its organizatio
