The Department of History at the College of Arts at the University of Basrah organized a scientific seminar entitled “The Uniform is the Identity of the University Student.

The seminar, in which Assistant Professor Dr. Sahra Hussein Mahmoud, Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Abdul Sattar Katea, and Assistant Lecturer Aqeel Habbar Jassim participated, aims to introduce new students, especially first-year students, to the uniform, its importance, and the commitment to its implementation.

The seminar included the topic of students’ transition from preparatory school to the first stage of university, as it represents an important development in their lives that requires them to be informed of the instructions, especially the instructions for the uniform that they will continue to wear throughout their studies in the subsequent academic stages.

The impact of adhering to the instructions regarding the uniform is not hidden in developing students’ sense of belonging to the university, justice and equality among them, and raising their academic level by focusing on their studies and not caring about the daily colors of their clothes.

The uniform represents an identity and address for university students that distinguishes them and identifies them in the community inside and outside the university campus
