The Environmental Research Laboratory in the Department of Geography and Geographic Information Systems in the College of Arts at the University of Basrah held an educational workshop for postgraduate students entitled (Technical Workshop for Postgraduate Students).

The workshop, which was managed by Professor Dr. Amal Saleh and the Head of Chemists Zuhair Ghazi Awad, aims to introduce postgraduate students (Masters) to the analysis of the three environmental elements, the approved research methods, how to take samples, traditional automated analysis of various types, and explaining the work of the available devices.

The workshop included training students on the procedures and methods followed in field work, how to express the concentrations of elements and compounds in samples and what they mean, the difference between the containers used in chemical and biological analysis, and the difference between physical geological concepts and the relationships between them mathematically and statistically.
