The ministerial committee in charge visited the Department of English Language at the College of Arts to consider the scientific and material capabilities. The Chairman of committee, Doctor Majeed A. Jedoo, and its members, Doctor Mohammed F. Hassan and Doctor Haithem K. Aidan, listened to Chairman of English Department Doctor Samir Talib who provided a detailed explanation about the faculty members’ degrees and the requirements to establish this discipline such as classrooms and college and department libraries.
By the end of the visit, the committee met both the administrative assistant of the dean of the college of Arts, Doctor Mohammed Abd Kadhim, and the scientific assistant, Doctor Haider Abdul Ridha, who stressed the importance of establishing the M.A in English Literature at the Department of English Language as the department has the intellectual ability and infrastructure which will positively contribute to  academic progress once it is approved
