On the occasion of the blessed Christmas Days and Bishop Firas Darder's assuming of his duties on behalf of the Patriarchate in Basrah and the Arabian Gulf, the unit of Continuous Education at the College of Arts  managed to organize a visit by some teachers of the Department of history on Thursday morning 31 / 12 / 2020 to the Syriac Catholic Church in Basrah/ Al – Ashar to offer congratulations to the bishop Darder wishing him every success. In this meeting, the teachers expressed their deep brotherly relationships between Muslims and Christians. They also explained the historical role of the Christians in the Arab homeland before Islam. In addition, they talked about the Christian role in enriching the Islamic heritage in various scientific products. The Bishop Darder thanked the teachers and expressed his gratitude and happiness for this visit wishing the good for everyone.
