College of Arts Organizes a Seminar Titled 'History and Charisma'

On Wednesday 13 / 1 / 2021, the Department of History at the College of Arts held a seminar titled " History and Charisma". Dr. Farouq Al-Omar referred to the German sociologist Max Weber who indicated that Charisma means satisfying attraction. He is the first who lavishes a political meaning to the term to refer to the power owned by a person to influence others. This session aimed at showing the application of charisma in the unstable countries via the emergence of strong governing figures having strong charisma that appeal to people when gratifying his view whether it is negative or positive.

Al-Omar recommended for the necessity of warning from the deification and admiring figures

till examining them objectively.
