The College of Arts at the University of Basra held a celebration on the occasion of the birth of Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), the Lady of the Women of the Worlds. The event was organized by the Women’s Affairs Unit in cooperation with the Department of Geographic Information Systems, the Continuing Education Unit, and with the participation of the Ata’a Al-Rahman Charitable Foundation.
The ceremony began with a beautiful recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a valuable lecture delivered by Professor Dr. Angers Ta’meh Yousef from the Department of Arabic Language, in which he discussed the spiritual and human status of Lady Zahra (peace be upon her) and her impact on establishing moral and social values.
The ceremony also included religious chants performed by a number of members of the Ata'a Al-Rahman Charitable Foundation, in addition to the recitation of poems in honor of Lady Fatima Al-Zahra (peace be upon her), including the poem:
(She shone so brightly that neither the sun nor the moon could compare to her, Zahra, from whose light the universe flourishes)
At the conclusion of the ceremony, the Ata'a Al-Rahman Charitable Foundation was honored with certificates of appreciation in recognition of its outstanding efforts and active contribution to the success of the event.
