Under the patronage of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Majid Abdul-Hamid Al-Kaabi, the Student Activities Division at the College of Arts organized a chess championship for all scientific departments, including morning and evening studies as well as postgraduate students.

Twenty-four male and female students participated in the championship. First place was awarded to postgraduate student Yasser Haider from the Department of English Language, second place to student Abdullah Ali from the Department of Translation, and third place to student Saif Salah from the Department of Translation. Medals were distributed to all participating students as encouragement and appreciation for their participation.
