The Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, organized a field visit to the Sacred Heart Church of the Syriac Catholics on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ (peace be upon him), on Wednesday, 24/12/2025.

The visit included learning about the history of the church, which was built in 1936 and inaugurated in 1940, in addition to exploring its main landmarks and meeting with several of its administrators, who provided a brief explanation of the church’s spiritual and social role within the community.

The visit aimed to promote peaceful and cultural coexistence among the various components of Iraqi society, foster a spirit of citizenship, and reinforce the values of mutual respect.
