As part of the University of Basrah’s efforts to enhance academic quality and improve teaching performance, the Performance Evaluation Committee visited the College of Arts on 28/12/2025. The committee included Professor Dr. Ammar Salman Dawood, Head of the Quality Assurance Division, and Assistant Professor Dr. Raheem Khazal Masawil, Head of the Performance Evaluation Division.

The Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, welcomed the visiting committee, emphasizing the importance of continuous evaluation in improving academic performance. The meeting was also attended by Professor Dr. Najat Abdul Karim, Head of the Quality Assurance Unit, along with the heads of the college’s academic departments.

The committee discussed mechanisms for evaluating faculty performance and ways to enhance academic quality. It expressed its appreciation for the warm reception and presented several important observations aimed at advancing the level of teaching performance evaluation at the college. The visit aims to support and improve academic performance, strengthen the development process at the College of Arts, and achieve the university’s strategic goals.

The committee also stressed the importance of continuous cooperation between the college and the university to achieve academic excellence, noting that the evaluation results will contribute to developing future improvement plans for the college.
