As part of strengthening academic and practical cooperation between the university and media institutions, students of the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, accompanied by a number of faculty members, conducted a scientific visit to the Communications and Media Commission – Southern Region / Basrah Branch on 29/12/2025.

Mr. Ahmed Fawzi Hardan, Director of the Communications and Media Commission, welcomed the visiting delegation, affirming the Commission’s readiness to cooperate with the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, the College of Arts, and the University of Basrah. He stated: “We are ready to support students and academics in the field of media and communications, and we look forward to their active role in the future.”

Lecturer Dr. Bassam Abdullah, a specialist in media and journalism, emphasized the importance of cooperation between the university and media institutions to apply the practical aspect of students’ studies and prepare them for the labor market. He said: “There must be genuine cooperation to qualify students and equip them with the practical skills necessary to effectively integrate them into the labor market.”

The Director of the Commission welcomed this proposal and expressed the Commission’s readiness to cooperate, praising the role of Mr. Ali Hussein, Director of Media at the Commission, and the heads of departments in supporting this initiative.
