The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies at the College of Arts, held an awareness seminar entitled “Illegal Immigration… A Journey into the Unknown”, delivered by Professor Dr. Nizar Abdul Mohsen, in the presence of a number of professors, staff of the department and students of the fourth, third and second stages.

The seminar was moderated by the Head of the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, Professor Dr. Amal Abdel Rahman, who confirmed in a statement that the university is keen to spread awareness among students and highlight issues that directly affect the future of young people.

For his part, Professor Dr. Ali Abdel Samad explained the importance of directing youth energies towards work and building within the homeland, while Lecturer Dr. Bassam Abdullah pointed to the legal and humanitarian risks that accompany illegal immigration.

For his part, the department’s coordinator, lecturer Tariq Taha Aboud, confirmed that these seminars contribute to enhancing student awareness, while teacher Samer Sabah stressed the need to continue awareness activities within the university.
