

The Information Technology Division at the College of Arts, in cooperation with the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, organized the second practical workshop entitled “Developing Electronic Archiving and Computer Skills”, which was dedicated to the scientific departments, divisions and administrative units in the college.
The workshop, presented by Assistant Lecturer Khadija Washah Hammoud, aimed to introduce the concept of electronic archiving and its strategic importance in light of rapid technological development, its role in protecting institutional memory, accelerating access to information, supporting the decision-making process, as well as the transition from traditional paper methods to modern, secure and sustainable digital systems.
The workshop also addressed the vital relationship between computers and archiving systems, the role of modern technologies in entering, processing and networking documents, in addition to developing basic digital skills such as database management and the use of office programs, and exploring the prospects of AI-supported electronic archiving, including intelligent classification, automated data extraction, and big data analysis to support institutional strategies.
