

The Cultural Center at the University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Department of Information and Knowledge Technologies, held a scientific seminar entitled “The Digital Society and the New Culture”, attended by a select group of professors and those interested in cultural and knowledge affairs.
The seminar included the presentation of two research papers; the first was entitled “Digital Society and the New Culture” and was presented by Professor Dr. Amal Abdulrahman Abdulwahed, while the second paper was entitled “Digital Culture in the Age of Technology” and was presented by lecturer Tariq Taha Aboud.
The seminar aimed to introduce the characteristics of the digital society and the features of digital culture, and to demonstrate the importance of the shift towards the new culture as an active element in shaping digital identity, and building a safe and responsible presence for individuals and institutions in the digital space.
For his part, the Director of the Cultural Center, Professor Dr. Nizar Abdul-Muhsin Jaafar, stated that organizing this seminar comes within the framework of spreading awareness of the importance of digital transformation and cultural openness, and enhancing interaction between multiple cultures in light of the accelerating technological development.
The seminar witnessed fruitful scientific discussions and interventions from the attendees, which contributed to enriching its themes and enhancing its cognitive objectives.
