As part of efforts to promote a culture of afforestation within the university environment and in contribution to National Tree Planting Day and environmental sustainability, students of the Department of Translation at the College of Arts / University of Basrah participated in planting trees across various areas of the college, including the garden designated for the department. This activity continued until 12 March 2026.

It is worth noting that the department also took part in a previous voluntary tree-planting campaign organized by the college’s Horticulture Unit and several of its members. This initiative reflected the importance of collective volunteer work among diverse groups in enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the college’s surroundings, including its corridors, classrooms, and buildings.

The participating students expressed their willingness and enthusiasm to take part in broader future campaigns starting from the next academic year.
