Under the patronage of the President of the University of Basra, Professor Dr. Muhannad Jawad Al-Asadi, and under the supervision of the Dean of the College of Arts, Professor Dr. Majid Abdul Hamid Al-Kaabi, and with the follow-up of the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Haider Abdul Ridha Al-Tamimi, the Assistant Dean for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Muhammad Abdul Kadhim, and the Director of the College of Arts Library, Professor Dr. Hala Ghalib Al-Nahi, the College of Arts Library organized a scientific seminar entitled: (The Authority File of Iraqi Authors)
in the presence of a select group of librarians, faculty members, and postgraduate students at the University of Basra.

Professor Hassanein Ahmed Hassan Al-Mousawi was present at the seminar, where he reviewed the concept of the authority file and its importance in unifying the forms of the names of Iraqi authors, which contributes to organizing the national intellectual production, as well as its role in supporting modern indexing systems and facilitating the search and retrieval of information accurately and efficiently.

The seminar witnessed remarkable interaction from the attendees, through interventions and discussions that enriched its themes and contributed to highlighting the importance of adopting authority files in developing library and information work within academic institutions.
