

The Technological Incubator Unit at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, in cooperation with the Development and Continuing Education Center and the Tammuz Organization for Social Development, organized an awareness seminar titled: “Raising Awareness of the Risks of Irregular Migration in Iraq: Causes and Consequences.”
The seminar addresses several important themes that shed light on the concept of irregular migration, its causes, consequences, and ways to reduce it. The seminar opens with Assistant Professor Dr. Naima Latif Abdullah delivering an introductory lecture on irregular migration, followed by Mr. Thaer Ali Hammoudi presenting an opening session featuring real-life stories, while Mr. Abdullah Bashir Falah reviews the main causes of migration.
Assistant Professor Dr. Hala Othman also discusses the impact of migration on both countries of origin and destination, while Lecturer Dr. Taghreed Khashan presents suitable solutions to reduce irregular migration. Mr. Mahdi Saleh Mahdi from the Department of Migration and Displacement / Basrah Office explains the role of the department in supporting migrants and assisting them upon their return.
The seminar concludes with an interactive session presented by Mr. Karrar Abdul Amir Hattab, introducing and explaining the “Escape Game” to the attendees, followed by a practical application of the games for thirty minutes.
