University of Basrah Organizes Cultural Festival Entitled: The University Female Student Between Reality and Aspiration in Light of Cultural Challenges

 

 

The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Arts, University of Basrah, organized a cultural festival entitled “The University Female Student Between Reality and Aspiration in Light of Cultural Challenges.”

The festival included a number of purposeful awareness and cultural lectures. Dr. Dunya Majeed Hameed delivered a lecture addressing the importance of health awareness for women in general, and for university female students in particular, highlighting ways to prevent breast cancer symptoms and the necessity of early detection.

Legal Officer Raghd Hakeem Sakhr also presented an awareness lecture on electronic blackmail, during which she explained its most common forms and methods of prevention, while offering important advice and guidance for female students to avoid becoming victims of such crimes.

The festival concluded with a lecture delivered by Zainab Khazal entitled “Women’s Rights in Islam,” in which she discussed the status of women and the rights guaranteed to them by Islamic teachings.

The festival, whose sessions were chaired by Dr. Difaf Nazim, aimed to enhance awareness among women and university female students, help them face various challenges, and direct academic thought toward positive scientific and cultural horizons that contribute to building a conscious and cohesive society.
